Social Media Specialist

General Position Description

The primary responsibilities of a Social Media Specialist are to create social media campaigns and the day-to-day management of the company’s social media properties. Your passion for social media as a communications tool will result in the adoption and implementation of social media best practices across all social media channels. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, a versatile creative writer, and a team player. You will be an active participant in data collection and analyses in order to consistently improve the company’s social media practices over time. You will be responsible for pushing and pulling content, as well as identifying influencers in key verticals to help expand our Amur community.

Duties and Responsibilities

Social Media Management                                                                                                                                                 

  • Develop social media content plans that are consistent with the company’s brand identity.
  • Create consistent, meaningful and engaging content on all social media platforms, including writing, editing and designing posts, improving impressions, engagement and followers, and promoting social media campaigns.
  • Manage a high volume of daily social media posts
  • Develop and manage social influencer programs and attend social influencer events.
  • Using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate the company’s social media presence and performance.
  • Suggest recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategy for optimal results.
  • Stay up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.
  • Ability to adapt and embrace channel diversity.
  • Perform other duties when needed.

Reputation Management                                                                                                                                                    

  • Responsible for online community management including the brand’s reputation.
  • Communicate with social media followers, including responding to customer queries in a timely manner.

Reporting                                                                                                                                                                                    

  • Prepare routine reports to identify engagement and success across all social media channels.

Departmental Cooperation                                                                                                                                                                              

  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude to promote a collaborative and enjoyable work environment.
  • Coordinate with Department Leaders, HR, Sales Reps, Partners and other personnel to effectively utilize all resources to meet social media goals and needs.

Skills and Abilities

  • Self-disciplined and capable of identifying, managing and completing critical tasks independently, creatively and always with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have a thorough understanding of social media management and strategy.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Timely decision-making ability.
  • Proficient in LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instragram, TikTok, SnapChat, YouTube, and other social media tracking tools.
  • Experience with video editing
  • Attention to detail, storytelling skills, and community management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Education and Training Guidelines

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, communicaitons, or related field.
  • Prefer one (1) to (5) year’s work experience in social media or marketing communications role.
