May Employee Spotlight

People are the heart of every great business.  So, we thought we’d share a little information about the members of our team here at AmurEF: Why do they come to work each day?  What do they do?  And what do they look forward to doing when the leave the office?  In our monthly Employee Spotlight series, you’ll get to know the answers for these questions – and more.

For the month of May, we introduce Leslie Lorenzo, Credit Processor.

Employee of the Month Interview

What do you do here at AmurEF?

I am a credit processor here at AmurEF. We are the first line of defense for AmurEF. We pull documents based off of the credit application to assist the credit analysts in determining credit worthiness for a company or individual. We input the information into the computer and classify the equipment. The credit processor’s job is to put the best package together for a credit analyst review. I also help enter applications for both wholesale and retail teams. This includes reviewing application submissions to ensure we have needed information to process deals in a timely manner.

How did you get into that field?

Before joining the AmurEF team, I worked at Principal Financial as a retirement specialist. I wanted to find a more complex job that didn’t require me being on the phone all day. I am currently attending college studying Business Administration online in the evenings, and then I plan to attend law school, so I wanted to stay in the finance industry.

What do you love most about AmurEF?

I love the overall atmosphere and work environment at AmurEF.  I feel like there is range of opportunity within the company itself and that if you’re willing to learn, then there is always someone willing to teach you.

What’s the first thing you do when you get off work?

On a typical day, I study for my college classes after work.  I keep busy most of the time so when I’m not at work studying is most likely what I’m doing.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

During my spare time, I like to play piano or just go out with friends for coffee, movies, or even shopping.  Now, if I had enough spare time then I’ll most likely be traveling.

Where’s your favorite place in the world?

I would say that my favorite place in the world so far would be Portland, Oregon.  I have yet to travel to other countries and states so that might change.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

If I could learn to do anything, I would learn to play guitar.

How do you define success?

I define the word success by accomplishing goals that you set for yourself.

What’s the most rewarding thing about your job?

I think the most rewarding part of my job is the team I work with.  Let’s just say each of them are one of a kind.

Employing Company Core Values

Every month, we recognize employees who exceed the day-to-day expectations of their role in the previous month.  In evaluating each candidate, we look for employees who embody AmurEF’s core values: commitmentresults drivenintegrityteamworkcontinuous improvement and fun.  Employees are motivated both by the opportunity to achieve this recognition, as well as grow alongside co-workers who live our core values every day.

Leslie was selected for the March Employee of the Month for being a dedicated member of the Credit Processing team.  Leslie’s supervisor Corissa Cemper said, “Recently, I have received compliments from team members outside of our immediate department of how much they appreciate Leslie’s support when they call with questions.”

Leslie displays teamwork by taking initiative and assisting her team members.  Leslie’s positive attitude is contagious.  She displays AmurEF’s core value of integrity by working hard and leading by example.  Leslie assists in running the credit emails, which can be very confusing and, at times, overwhelming. There are times when multiple submissions come in at the same time.  Leslie reviews the submission in a timely manner and get the deals submitted for processing. If we are missing info needed for processing she will go back to whomever sent it in and is able to gather what we need. She smiles and takes on the challenge, showing she is resilient and committed.
